Description
Ashby de la Zouch Boys' Grammar School is a building dating from around 1807, although it has a foundation from the 16th century. It is constructed of red brick, with the central bay made of stone and topped with a pediment. The building features a stucco moulded eaves cornice and a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has six windows, which are sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance consists of a segmental arched door that is recessed within a plain arch and is adorned with a radial fanlight. Above the door, there is a round-headed concave niche and a tablet. On the north-east side facing the churchyard, there are two blank Gothic arches and a roundel in the gable end. At the rear, there are early 19th-century casement windows with cambered head linings.
