Description

St Mary's Cottage is a 16th century timber-framed house that has undergone later alterations and additions, with significant restoration work. The building is designed on an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys. The first storey features exposed timber-framing, while the ground storey is covered in pebbledash. The south front includes two 20th century bay windows that extend through both storeys and are fitted with leaded lights. The roof is tiled. St Mary's Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos. 13 to 19 (odd), Nos. 20 to 30 (consecutive), Parson's Almshouses, Nos. 34, 36, 36A, 38, and Nos. 40 to 60 (even) on St Mary's Street, as well as the Parish Church of St Mary.
