Description
22 Hart Street is a 16th-century timber-framed house featuring plastered infill between the exposed timbers. It has an old tiled roof and stands two storeys high with a dormer and one window, which is a leaded casement. The ground floor is underbuilt with brick and has a modern shop window with leaded glazing. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 8 (even), Nos 14 to 36 (even) including Adam House, and Nos 40 and 44, as well as gates and piers at 48 and 50, The Old School House, and the Rectory Garden Wall. This group also encompasses Nos 5 to 39 (odd), the Drinking Fountain, the Parish Church of St Mary, and the raised pavement at the east end of Hart Street.
