Description

22 and 23 High Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century, constructed from local red brick with a plain tile roof. The roof features a ridge stack that may be a 17th-century remnant from an earlier building. The cottages are two storeys high and have a brick band between the floors, as well as a plinth and cornice adorned with 'banked' sawtooth and dentil brick decoration. There are modern doors on both the right and left sides, along with two casement windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all set in segmental brick arches. The interior retains details from the 18th century. These cottages are noted for their group value within the context of the area.
