LODE LODE ROAD (North Side) No. 21

GV II

Cottage of C17 origin remodelled in C20. Timber-framed plaster rendered with a thatched roof of reed. Rebuilt ridge stack in style of C17 with grouped shafts on square base. Plan of two bays with a lobby entry. One storey and attics. Four windows, including three C20 horizontal sliding sashes. The door, also C20, is in its original location opposite the stack. Inside the cottage has had the floor of the right hand bay removed, the inglenooks are rebuilt and a small wing has been added at the rear. Included for group value.
