Description

This is an early 19th century pair of semi-detached cottages located on School Lane in Maxey. The cottages are constructed of coursed stone with flush quoins. They have thatched roofs with gabled ends, and a catslide roof to the outshut at the rear; a central chimney stack is made of brick. The cottages are two storeys high, with two bays each. The windows are two-light casements; those on the first floor have leaded panes and are topped by lintels with keyblocks. Doorways are located on either side, and the doorway to No. 2 has a later wooden porch.
