Description
Nos. 71 and 73 Wharf Road are a late 17th-century building, with later alterations. No. 71 is a single-story building with attics, constructed of rough render. It features a thatched roof, two brick chimneys at the gable ends, and two gabled dormers with leaded casements. The windows have flush frames, wooden architraves, and double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A six-panel door is set within a moulded wooden architrave, and a small, pedimented hood is supported by carved brackets. No. 73 is also a single-story building with attics, originally built of rubble, but subsequently repaired with brick and whitewashed. It incorporates a brick plinth, an asbestos tile race, one gabled dormer, a modern door and porch, and a small, canted bay window with a modern tile roof and glazing.
