Description
Nos. 69, 71, and 73 East Street is a house that has been divided into three separate homes. It likely dates from the 16th century or early 17th century. The building features solid rendered walls and slated roofs, with three rendered chimneys that have tapered caps: one on the left gable and two on the rear wall. It is two storeys tall and five windows wide, with the front designed to imitate masonry.
No. 71 has a mid or late 18th century doorcase that includes a moulded architrave, a panelled frieze, and a flat hood supported by shaped brackets, along with a six-panelled door where the bottom two panels are flush and the top two are now glazed. No. 73 has a similar doorcase and door but lacks the frieze and bracketed hood, featuring an iron shoescraper instead, with the top four panels of the door glazed. No. 69 has raised quoins on the left side, a late 20th century bay window on the ground floor, and a metal casement window above. No. 71 has a 10-paned sash window to the left of the centre door and an 8-paned sash window to the right, with three more sash windows in the upper storey. No. 73 has two 20th century wood-framed windows.
