Description

This is a terrace of three houses located on East Street in Ashburton. They were built in the early 19th century. The houses have painted brick facades, with the right gable wall covered in slate. The roofs are slate, and rendered chimneys are visible on the left side of each house.

The houses are three storeys with a garret, each two windows wide. A doorway replaces the right-hand ground-floor window of each house. The doorways have round arches with plain imposts, and keystones are present at numbers 62 and 66. The windows are primarily 8-paned sashes, although the lower second-floor sashes have 12 panes and open onto patterned iron balconies. The upper third-storey sashes are 4-paned. A raised band runs above the ground and second storeys. A plain parapet sits at the top of the building. A rainwater head at number 64 may be original. Each house has a hipped dormer window. The original area railings, complete with urn finials, are also included.
