Description
No. 63 East Street is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The ground storey is rendered, while the upper part features slate-hanging, which was re-hung in Delabole slate in the 1980s, between red brick side walls. The building has a hipped slated roof and a red brick chimney, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, on each side wall. It stands three storeys tall and is three windows wide. The ground storey includes a central door with four flush panels, flanked by 6-paned sash windows. The upper storeys feature a canted bay window in the centre, with the flanking windows positioned closely together, creating the appearance of a single wide window. All front windows in the bays are 6-paned sashes, with fixed 8-paned sidelights. The building has a boxed eaves-cornice with enriched mouldings.
