Description
No. 101 Park Street is a town house dating from around 1840, featuring two storeys and a basement. The building has a symmetrical three-bay façade made of red brick, which gains formality and interest from the use of giant Luton grey brick pilaster strips. Each bay is recessed under a depressed rubbed brick arch that extends to the pilasters. The eaves cornice is moulded and cut-in with red brick. The gable end roof is covered with slate and has flanking brick chimney stacks with cornices. The windows are revealed sash types with flat gauged rubbed brick arches and stucco cills, and there is a central window above the doorway. The entrance features a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight set in panelled reveals, framed by a stucco doorcase with panelled pilaster strips and decorated consoles that support a moulded cornice and blocking course.
