PARK STREET 1. 5123 No 38 (The Cock Public House) TL 0921 2/42 8.1.79 II GV

  1. A two storey timber framed building of C17 or probably earlier origins, the front rebuilt in red brick in the early C19, with an extension of one bay including a waggon-way to the left. Gable end slate roof over front range. C19 sashes to first floor and pub window and doorway to painted ground floor both with moulded cornice on consoles. The timber framed structure extends back from the two bays of the front on an L plan. A substantial part of the studding including the bressumer is exposed to the waggon-way. A secondary two storey timber framed wing with straight bracing and lighter studding extends to the rear and is probably of late C17 build.
