Description
No. 5 Castle Street is a building from around the 1870s, constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof. It stands three storeys high and features an eaves cornice. The facade has three bays, with the central bay being slightly recessed. On the first and second floors, there are three sash windows with glazing bars and gauged brick heads, with the first-floor windows being taller than those on the second. A brick band runs between the floors. The ground floor is distinguished by a heavy moulded cornice with brackets above a central doorway, which is flanked by two large semi-circular headed windows that have keystones decorated with a bunch of grapes. The arches of the windows spring from brick pilasters, and the windows have stone cills.
