Description
The Nickel Bag Public House is an early 19th-century building that was significantly extended in the 20th century. It is constructed from Luton grey bricks with red brick dressings and has been recently colourwashed. The roof is made of Welsh slate and features two gabled dormers behind a plain brick parapet. The building has dentil eaves and projecting brick quoins. The facade is five bays wide, with a single return bay to the north-east, all designed in the same style. The first floor has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, and the window openings have arched heads and moulded cill aprons. The ground floor windows are similar but do not have glazing bars. There is a central front door. The rear sections of the building mainly date from the 20th century and include a Venetian window on the first floor of the south-west elevation.
