Description
The Brewery Tap Public House and The Pioneer Bookshop is a two-storey timber-framed building with a rear wing, likely dating from the 17th century but covered in stucco with a parapet front in the early to mid-19th century. It features steep gable end tiled roofs. The front has a wooden canted bay with a panelled apron on the left side of the first floor, situated above a small Victorian shop front. In the centre of the first floor is a flush architrave sash window, while there is no window on the right side. The mid-19th century corner pub front includes steeply framed windows, a doorway at the corner, a fascia, and a plain cornice. The wing has two plain glazing bar sashes on the first floor and late 19th century sash windows on the ground floor. The roof is supported by side purlins.
