Description
16 Park Street is a two-storey town house dating from around 1740, featuring a facade of painted brick with five symmetrical bays. The ground floor has been altered to serve as a shop front in the mid 19th century. It has a moulded cornice below the parapet with coping, and a peg tile gable end roof that includes two hipped roof dormers. The house may actually be of 17th century origin and has a timber-framed structure at the rear. The first floor windows, with the center window wider than the flanking ones, have slightly revealed architrave surrounds and consist of 3 x 6 pane sashes. These windows have flat gauged arches, with the center window featuring a keystone that reaches up to the cornice. The full-width shop front includes pilasters and a fascia with cornice coping.
