Description

No. 108 is a house, originally a schoolhouse connected with Clifton Fields School, dating to circa 1870. The house is constructed of red brick with decorative brick patterns. It has a clay tile roof with bands of fishscale tiles and decorative ridge cresting. The design is compact, with slightly projecting gables, and features a first floor and attics, presented in a picturesque style. All windows are cast iron lattice casements set within polychrome brick pointed-arched heads. A canted bay window extends from the ground floor of the north gable end. A door is located on the west elevation, also framed by a polychrome pointed head. Diaper brick patterning runs in a band below the eaves, and moulded brick modillions are present on the cornice and gables. A substantial brick ridge stack features a moulded cornice.
