Description
Meadow Springs is a cottage from the late 19th century, located in an isolated rural setting as part of the Bedford Estate. The building features light timber framing with brick infill, including some panels arranged in a herringbone pattern, and red brick on part of the rear elevation. It has 20th-century tile roofs and an irregular cruciform plan, consisting of one storey and attics.
The gable end of the southern wing includes a central enclosed porch with a slightly sloping hood, flanked by moulded drop finials. The upper storey is jettied and tile-hung, featuring a central canted oriel window with a sloping hood. The west wing gable end has a rectangular bay with a sloping hood on the ground floor and two casement windows on the upper floor. The east wing gable end boasts an open gabled porch made of rustic log-work with a tiled roof, and the attic storey has a casement window.
Most of the windows are casements with honeycomb leading. There are two gabled dormers, with the one on the southern elevation projecting slightly on timber brackets. The building has two plank doors and two part-glazed doors. The gables are adorned with plain bargeboards and finials. Additionally, there are three red brick multiple chimney stacks, including one on the ridge, one on the roof slope, and one external.
