Description
The Well House is a house that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries, previously featuring a panel above the door with the date 1707. It has a timber-framed structure covered in colourwashed roughcast render and is topped with clay tile roofs. The building has an L-plan layout, consisting of one storey and attics, with an earlier block to the west.
On the west elevation, the ground floor includes two 3-light casement windows with diamond leading. The attic features two gabled dormers that contain 3-light casement windows from the 20th century, also with diamond leading. The central doorway has a part-glazed panelled door beneath a gabled open porch, which aligns with a brick ridge stack that serves a back-to-back hearth and creates a lobby entrance. The northeast block is slightly lower, with parts of the wall covered in colourwashed brick, and there is a variety of casement windows throughout the building.
