Description
The Chequers Inn is a public house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features colourwashed roughcast render that appears to encase some timber framing, and has a clay tile roof with a fairly steep pitch. The building has a two-room plan and is one storey high with attics, situated along the road. A later clock projects from the rear of the building. On the ground floor, there is one three-light casement window and one two-light casement window, both with glazing bars. The attic includes three gabled dormers: the central dormer has a two-light casement window, while the outer dormers each have three-light casement windows. The left-hand gable end features a projecting brick chimney stack and a 20th-century part-glazed porch.
