Description
No. 7 Water End is a 17th-century house located in Wrestlingworth and Cockayne Hatley. It features colourwashed render over a timber frame and has a half-hipped thatched roof. The house has a three-room plan and is one storey with attics. On the northwest elevation, there are two 2-light casement windows with glazing bars and a plank door aligned with a red brick ridge stack. The northeast gable end has one 2-light casement window each on the ground floor and in the attic. Inside, the central bay may have originally been open to the roof, as the attic floor appears to be a later addition. The fireplace is constructed from timber framing with wattle and daub infill and features the inscription "I.B. 1670" incised in the bressumer.
