Description
Hoddesden Villas is a pair of symmetrical houses built in the early to mid 19th century, now converted into 10 flats. They are constructed from yellow brick with stucco dressings and feature a channelled stucco ground floor. The hipped tiled roof has a bracketed cornice. The buildings rise to three storeys and have a layout of 2:2:2 sash windows, with round-headed windows on the ground floor and segmental-headed windows on the upper floors. The corners are accentuated with rusticated quoins. The fine six-panelled doors, with two central circular panels, are set in round arched porches that flank an elliptically arched carriageway with a keyblock. Nos 26 to 30 (even) are part of a group that includes the Public Library.
