Description

26 Lake Street is an early 19th-century building made of red brick with a Welsh slate roof and a cornice. It has two storeys and features a recessed wing on the left side. The facade includes a 1:3 window arrangement, with sash windows set in reveals and fitted with louvered shutters, all topped with flat arches. On the first floor, there is a dummy window on the right, and a central four-panel door, with two glazed panels, framed by a reeded surround that includes a frieze and cornice. The windows have glazing bars, except for the lower halves of the ground floor windows. This building is included for its group value with Nos 26 to 30, which form a group with the Public Library.
