Description
Nos 6 and 6A on Lake Street are early 19th-century buildings with a stucco front and a modillion pediment that hides a lower Welsh slated roof. The structure has three storeys and features Doric pilasters on the ground floor, along with a simplified entablature that includes consoles. The shop windows have been altered in the 19th century. There are four sash windows on the first floor, each with architrave surrounds, friezes, and cornices, while the second floor has eared architrave surrounds. The upper floors are accented with quoins on the right side and tall fluted Corinthian pilasters flanking three windows on the left. To the far right, there is a two-storey wing that has a modillion cornice and a blocking course. The shop front is similar to that of the main block, featuring a wide window on the first floor with a plain surround and a cornice supported by consoles. Nos 2 to 6 (even) and 6A form a group with No 16 Market Square.
