Description
This urn is one of a group of ten identical urns located in the private garden on the south side of Woburn Abbey. It is likely from the early 19th century and is made of marble, standing on a limestone plinth. The urn is approximately 2 metres high and features a rectangular plinth with a moulded base and cap. The urn itself has fluting on the foot and stem, gadrooning at the base of the bowl, and moulded decoration on the lip, beneath which is a band of husks.
