Description

The Statue of Apollo, dating from around 1700, was created by J V Legterin, who was active between 1685 and 1708. This statue is made of ashlar stone, which has been blackened later to resemble lead. It stands on a rectangular ashlar plinth that features a moulded base and cap. Together, the statue and plinth reach a height of approximately 3 metres. The statue depicts a standing figure of Apollo dressed in classical draperies, holding a lyre in his right hand. It is part of a group that includes statues of Adonis, Juno, and Diana.
