Description
The Statue of Juno is a Grade II listed statue located in Woburn Park, dating from around 1700 and created by J V Legterin, who was active between 1658 and 1708. The statue is made of ashlar stone, which has been blackened later to conceal repair work and to mimic the appearance of lead. It stands on a rectangular ashlar plinth that features a moulded base and cap, with the combined height of the statue and plinth being approximately 3 metres. The figure of Juno is depicted in classical draperies, accompanied by a peacock positioned behind her right leg. This statue is part of a group that includes other figures representing Adonis, Apollo, and Diana.
