Description

The Statue of Diana, dating from around 1700, was created by J V Legterin, who was active between 1685 and 1708. This statue is made of ashlar stone, which has been blackened later to resemble lead. It stands on a rectangular ashlar plinth that features a moulded base and cap. Together, the statue and plinth reach a height of approximately 3 metres. The figure of Diana is depicted in classical draperies, adorned with a crescent in her hair, holding a quiver in her left hand, with a hunting dog at her right leg. This statue is part of a group that includes items 10/145, 10/147, and 10/148.
