Description

This is one of a group of ten identical urns located in a private garden on the south side of Woburn Abbey. The urns were probably made in the early 19th century and are crafted from marble, standing approximately 2 metres high on a limestone plinth. The plinth is rectangular with a moulded base and cap. The urn features fluting on the foot and stem, gadrooning at the base of the bowl, and moulded decoration on the lip, which is adorned with a band of husks below it.
