Description

This is one of a group of ten identical urns located in the private garden on the south side of Woburn Abbey. Likely dating from the early 19th century, the urn is made of marble and stands on a limestone plinth, reaching approximately 2 meters in height. The rectangular plinth features a moulded base and cap. The urn itself has fluting on the foot and stem, with gadrooning at the base of the bowl and moulded decoration along the lip, beneath which is a band of husks.
