Description
Penwrights Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber framed construction that is partly rendered and colourwashed, with sections of colourwashed brick infill and areas that have been rebuilt in colourwashed brick. The cottage has a thatched roof and was originally designed with a two-bay plan, to which a later bay was added to the west. It is one storey high with attics and has three ground floor windows, along with one dormer, all featuring a variety of casements with glazing bars. A 20th-century door is located between the two right-hand bays. There is a rebuilt red brick double ridge stack situated between the two left-hand bays. At the rear, there is an 18th-century timber framed and thatched addition that is also one storey high with attics, as well as a flat-roofed 20th-century addition.
