Description
Croot's Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with 19th-century windows. It is timber framed and has a colourwashed roughcast render exterior. The roof is made of clay tiles and is hipped to the north. The building has an L-plan layout, with the main hall being two storeys tall and the cross-wing also having two storeys and attics.
On the east elevation, the gable of the cross-wing features a canted bay with sash windows that have glazing bars on the ground floor, a sash window with glazing bars on the first floor, and a 20th-century casement window with glazing bars in the attic. The ground floor of the main block has a three-light casement and a single-light casement, both with glazing bars, along with one 20th-century casement and one sash window with glazing bars on the first floor. There is a 20th-century gabled porch at the junction with the cross-wing. The cross-wing has a rebuilt multiple ridge stack. Additionally, there is a single-storey 19th-century outhouse addition in red brick that projects forward from the north end.
