Description
Bellwood is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber-framed construction with a colourwashed roughcast exterior and a 20th-century tile roof. The building has a three-room plan that was originally an open hall but has been converted into a one-storey structure with attics following the insertion of a floor in the 17th century. There are three ground floor windows and two dormers with sloping roofs, all fitted with 20th-century casements. A 20th-century door is located under an open gabled porch on the right-hand side. A red brick double ridge stack is positioned between the two right-hand bays. Additionally, there is an 18th-century single-storey addition on the west gable end, which is also timber framed and has an old clay tile roof. A 20th-century wing has been added to the rear.
