Description

This is a 17th-century house located in Carlton and Chellington. The house is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and has a thatched roof. It originally comprised two bays, with a central ridge chimney stack – initially with one flue, later augmented with a southwest flue. The building is one storey high with attics. The northwest elevation features two dormer windows set into the eaves. The ground floor has three casement windows. In the 19th century, colourwashed brick wings were added at right angles to the northeast gable end, and feature Welsh slate roofs. The brick wings are partially two-storey and partially one-storey in height, with 20th-century casement windows.
