Description
Laburnham House is a late 17th century house with 19th century additions to the rear, located on the east side of Bridgend in Carlton and Chellington. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with later additions featuring colourwashed and rendered brickwork. It has an L-shaped plan and an old clay tile roof. The house is two storeys high, with the main front block featuring an off-centre red brick ridge stack. The west elevation shows rafter feet projecting at the eaves. On the first floor, there are four casement windows under timber lintels; three of these are 3-light windows, while the second from the right is a 2-light window. The ground floor includes a 19th century doorway with an architrave surround and a cut bracketed doorhood, along with three casement windows—two of which are 3-light windows and the central one is a 2-light window.
