Description
The Little Barford War Memorial is made of Portland stone and is located in the north-east part of the churchyard of the parish Church of St Denys, near the entrance. It features a cross fleury with a roundel at the center and raised decorative bands on both faces. This is mounted on a short tapering shaft that sits on a square-plan plinth consisting of two tiers, which is set on a base.
Inscriptions can be found on the north-east face of the base and on both tiers of the plinth. The upper tier reads, "IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS/ PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919." Below this, the names of seven men who lost their lives in the First World War are inscribed, and on the base, it states, "LIVE THOU FOR ENGLAND, WE FOR ENGLAND DIED."
