Description

A group of three estate cottages dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with an old clay fishscale tile roof. The cottages are arranged in an H-shape. The west-facing elevation features a 1:2:1 arrangement of sash windows on the first floor, with glazing bars, and a small casement window above the central doorway. The doorway has an arched opening and a doorhood with a gable and brackets, which is typical of the Turvey Estate. The ground-floor windows on the west elevation also have glazing bars, and are set within gauged yellow brick heads. The north and south elevations of the cross wings each feature two first-floor and two ground-floor sash windows with glazing bars. A small first-floor casement window sits above the doorway, mirrored by a gabled bracketed doorhood. The cottages are included in the listing for their group value.
