Description

These cottages at 18-22 Gold Street date to the late 18th century. They are built with a timber frame, covered in colour-washed rough cast. The roofs are slated, with pantiles at the rear. The cottages are arranged in an L-shape, two storeys high. The front elevation facing the road has three windows on each floor, each a two-light horizontal sash window with glazing bars. A 20th-century door is set in an original moulded surround on the right-hand side; the door to number 20 was originally positioned between two windows on the left-hand side but is now blocked. The north-west elevation also features horizontal sash windows. A single-storey lean-to addition has been built onto the north-west elevation, and a two-storey addition extends from the rear.
