Description
129 Village Road is a building that originally started as a two-room cottage from the 17th or 18th century. It has since been modified, with floors and a central back-to-back fireplace added later. In the early 19th century, the cottage was extended to the west by one room, and in the 1940s, it was further extended to the east by two rooms, creating an L-shaped plan. During this time, the entire structure was likely renovated. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a thatched roof that is hipped at both ends. It has three dormers with modern lead-paned windows and a modern porch. The 19th-century gable end is half-hipped. The cottage is one storey high with attics, and much of the internal timber framing remains intact.
