Description

This is a house, now divided into two separate dwellings. It likely dates from the 17th century, though it was significantly renovated with a new facade in the early 19th century, and altered again in the late 20th century. The exterior is stuccoed brick, with a low-pitched, slate hipped roof and a rear chimney stack. The building is three storeys high, featuring a stepped cornice and a decorative sill band to the first floor. It has three windows on the front elevation: the central window is blind, with a 16-pane horizontally sliding sash window to the left and a three-light casement window to the right. The second floor features two eight-pane horizontally sliding sash windows flanking a blind window. The ground floor has a twelve-pane sash window to the left of centre, paired with a sixteen-pane sash window to the right. An entrance on the left corner leads to Long Alley, while an entrance to number 13 is on the left-hand side. The left entrance has a segmental head with a six-panelled door, and the entrance to number 12 features a segmental head, a wooden architrave, and a six-paned door. A lower, rear wing incorporates an exposed timber truss to the gable, showcasing struts to the collar and trenched purlins.
