Description
27 and 28 High Street are two houses built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations from the mid-19th century and late 20th century. They are constructed of painted brick and have a tile roof with stacks along the ridge. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a dentilled brick cornice, with a straight joint between the two houses.
On the first floor, there are two windows: a 16-pane sash window on the left and a 3-light casement window on the right, both set under segmental heads. The ground floor also has two windows: a 16-pane sash window to the left and a 3-light fixed casement window to the right, again both under segmental heads.
The entrance to number 27 is located at the left corner and features a wooden architrave, a segmental head, and a 6-panel door from the 20th century. The entrance to number 28 is situated to the right of centre and has a wooden architrave, a segmental head, and a glazed door from the 20th century. Additionally, there is an entrance to a passage leading to Court number 2 at the left corner, which has a ledged and boarded door under a segmental head.
