Description
The Nash and Court memorial is a chest tomb located about 7 metres north of the tower of the Church of St James in Hartlebury. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features recessed corners and a fluted frieze with three paterae on the long sides. It has a flat top with a moulded cornice and an incised coat of arms at the west end. The south side of the tomb has an inscription that reads: "Sacred to the Memory of Mr George Nash late of Titton in this Parish who died April 6th 1803. Aged 50 years/ Say more I need not, say less who can/ Here lies the gen'rous truly honest Man". The memorial also commemorates other members of the Nash and Court families.
