Description
Oakhouse Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with mid-19th century alterations and 20th century repairs. It features a timber-frame structure with rendered infill and a tiled roof. The building is L-shaped, with the main range consisting of two framed bays aligned east to west, and another range extending north from the east end. There is a large square-plan chimney stack at the junction of the two ranges.
The east front has a gabled main range on the left, which is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic. Both the first and ground floors have a three-light casement window with plank weathering. The range on the right has three bays, with the rightmost bay featuring a lower half-hipped gable. This range includes five two-light casements on the first floor and two four-light casements on the ground floor. The entrance is located to the left of this range, accessed through a gabled tiled porch with a ledged door.
The framing consists of four square panels high, and the gable truss has two collars with struts and V-struts in the apex.
