Description

Moat Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and repairs in the 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and a tiled roof, designed in an H-plan layout. The main range runs east to west and has a stack at the junction with the west cross-wing.

On the south front, the cross-wings are two storeys high, while the main range is one storey. The left cross-wing has a single-light casement window on each floor. There is a lean-to slated canopy over the centrally placed entrance, which has a ledged door, and a 2-light casement window to the right. The framing consists of three square panels high, with gable trusses that include three struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
