Description
The Priory is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was refronted around 1800 and has had alterations in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a plain tiled roof behind a parapet, along with two brick stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic with dormers, arranged in a 3:1 bay configuration. The three-bay section has 16-pane sash windows in the outer bays on both floors, and a central 12-pane sash window on the first floor. The single-bay section to the right is wider and also has 12-pane sashes on both floors. All windows are adorned with moulded architraves. The main entrance, located at the centre of the three-bay section, features an open pediment supported by engaged Doric columns, a six-panelled door with egg and dart moulded surrounds, and a traceried segmental fanlight. There are 19th and 20th-century additions on the right side and at the rear. Inside, the doors leading off the central hall have details similar to those of the front entrance door.
