Description
Ashbury Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with a mid-19th century addition. The building features finely-jointed brickwork and a plain tiled roof, with gable-end parapets and rear brick stacks. There is also part constructed from coursed dressed limestone rubble, which has a plain tiled roof and a brick stack at the left end of the ridge. The original brick section is two storeys high and has a three-course band between the storeys, along with a dentilled eaves cornice. It has three bays, with windows that have gauged flat heads; all are 12-pane sashes with moulded architraves. The former central entrance has been blocked, and a 12-pane sash window has been inserted into the original opening. The 19th-century addition is three storeys tall and has two bays. The original cross-casements remain on the ground and first floors, along with the original 2-light casements on the second floor. Additionally, there is a small 20th-century rectangular light to the right of the ground floor. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a catslide roof.
