Description

Railings and gates located about 15 yards west of the Church of St Mary the Virgin date from the late 18th century. They are made of cast iron and sit on a chamfered sandstone ashlar base. The railings stretch approximately 30 yards in length and feature an alternating design of spearheaded and crescent-headed tops, with standards topped by urn finials. At each end of the railings, there are pairs of gates with ornate detailing and square openwork piers. Additionally, on the inner side of each gateway, there is a single gate that swings outwards within a curved section of the main railings.
