Description

Monks Cottage is a timber-frame building, originally two houses combined into one, dating to the 17th century with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The structure has painted brick and rendered infill panels between the timber frame, set on a stone plinth, and is roofed with thatch. Four framed bays are aligned east to west; the western bays are set back slightly, with gable-end stacks. The single storey building has an attic lit by five eyebrow dormers. The ground floor features six 20th-century casement windows. An entrance is situated to the right of centre, sheltered by a thatched canopy and incorporating a 20th-century door.
