Description
The Grange is a house dating from the early 17th century, with extensions made in the late 17th century and early 18th century, along with some alterations from the early 19th century and late 20th century. The building has a timber-frame structure that has largely been rebuilt in brick, with the front finished in stucco and a machine tile roof. It is designed in an L-shape, with a rear range added to the west in the late 17th century and a front range extending to the south, which includes an 18th-century addition.
The east front features two storeys, with plaster quoins, and the left-hand section has a decorative band and a modillioned cornice. There are four windows on each floor, all of which are casements set beneath 19th-century Tudor arches. The entrance is located centrally in the right-hand block, sheltered by a 20th-century lean-to tiled canopy, and features a half-glazed door. Inside, the early 17th-century section includes a clasped purlin roof.
