Description

The Old Manor is a house dating from the 17th century, with some alterations from the late 18th century and the mid-20th century. The house is timber-framed, built on a stone plinth, and partially clad in brick. The roof is of Cotswold stone and machine tiles. The building is arranged in a U-shape, set flush to the street, with a stack to the right of the main range. This stack has an exposed wall of coursed rubble and ashlar quoins and a diamond-plan shaft. An external rubble stack is also located on the left-hand return wall. The house has two storeys and gabled cross-wings. There are three windows: 3-light casements; the two outer windows have wedge lintels made of brick, and the central window breaks the eaves slightly with a shallow lean-to roof. The entrance is to the left of centre, sheltered by a flat canopy with a 20th-century ledged and boarded door. The timber framing is exposed on the side and rear walls, with three square panels and straight angle braces.
